Exclusive – Giroud: Arsenal squad have full faith in Wenger

first_imgArsenal striker Oliver Giroud has told talkSPORT that the players have full faith in Arsene Wenger despite pressure mounting from the stands for his exit.Wenger has come under constant pressure from the Gunners faithful despite qualifying for the last 16 of the Champions League and being just four points behind fourth placed West Ham United.But Giroud believes the current squad has full trust in their manager, and has backed Wenger to prove the doubters wrong.The Frenchman said: “I think it is the minority of fans, and it is our job on the pitch to make them happy and show them he is a great manager, and that he is the best man for the situation.“We trust him, especially now when we are on a bad run, he has a good way of making us feel confident and keeping our heads up.“It is disappointing to see [the banners] because we are a team and a pack, from the players to the boss to the medical staff, we are a team, so when one of those people are getting criticised by someone we take it personally, it gives us the power to want to fight harder and play well.”Oliver Giroud spoke ahead of Arsenal’s game against Newcastle this weekend which is the Club’s dedicated charity matchday which sees the Arsenal manager and players donating a day’s wages to The Arsenal Foundation which supports projects which help young people thrive.  For more details visit: arsenal.com/thearsenalfoundation.last_img read more
