The best UK shares to buy now are likely to be those companies capable of surviving a challenging period for the economy. That’s so they can capitalise on a likely long-term recovery. As such, businesses with solid balance sheets and strong market positions could emerge from the current economic crisis in a better position relative to their peers. Where they trade on low valuations, they may be able to deliver high returns in a likely stock market recovery.5G is here – and shares of this ‘sleeping giant’ could be a great way for you to potentially profit!According to one leading industry firm, the 5G boom could create a global industry worth US$12.3 TRILLION out of thin air…And if you click here we’ll show you something that could be key to unlocking 5G’s full potential…Over time, such companies may turn a modest initial investment into a surprisingly large sum. They may even allow an investor to make a million. The best UK shares are set to survive short-term challengesEven the very best UK shares are likely to experience some form of disruption in the coming months. Risks such as coronavirus and political uncertainty may weigh on a wide range of sectors. Therefore, it’s crucial an investor’s holdings have the means to cope with a period of lower sales and profitability. This will enable them to enjoy improving operating conditions as the UK and world economies gradually recover from present challenges. As such, companies including WPP and Barratt could prove to be attractive. They’ve been able to improve their balance sheet strength over recent years. This should mean they’re not just able to survive short-term challenges. But also develop their market positions to generate higher returns as the economy recovers.WPP has also streamlined its business model so it’s more flexible than previously. This may help it to adapt to changing customer demands in an increasingly technology-focused economy. Meanwhile, Barratt’s large land bank and high customer satisfaction ratings could make it one of the best UK shares to buy now.UK stocks trading at cheap pricesClearly, the best UK shares to buy now are likely to offer wide margins of safety. They could produce impressive share price growth because they’re undervalued at the present time. Indeed, buying undervalued shares has historically been successful. Investors who bought cheap shares after previous crises have enjoyed strong recoveries in their aftermath. Therefore, stocks such as Tesco and HSBC could prove to be attractive long-term purchases. Tesco has a price-to-earnings growth (PEG) ratio of just 0.5, while HSBC’s PEG ratio is 0.2. These figures suggest investors haven’t yet factored in the growth potential offered by the two companies as the economy picks up following the coronavirus pandemic. While the best UK shares can outperform the stock market, even obtaining the same return as the FTSE 100 could produce a portfolio valued in excess of a million. For example, a £100,000 investment, or £750 per month, would be worth £1m within 30 years if it attains the same 8% annual return as the FTSE 100 has done in the past. However, with many high-quality companies trading at cheap prices, there may be opportunities to obtain a seven-figure portfolio at an even faster pace. Renowned stock-picker Mark Rogers and his analyst team at The Motley Fool UK have named 6 shares that they believe UK investors should consider buying NOW.So if you’re looking for more stock ideas to try and best position your portfolio today, then it might be a good day for you. Port Melbourne has fast become one of the key residential suburbs of Melbourne to develop low and mid rise mixed use apartment buildings. Armada is no exception and represents a style of architecture that is both visually intriguing, yet practical. Located in Nott Street Port Melbourne, these contemporary low-rise apartments suggest the passing ships, as well as the shipping containers that arrive daily at the docks nearby. These maritime themes inspire the overall design of the Armada apartments and combine to produce an Architecture that is both sinuous and streamlined, while also being well grounded and assertive. Port Melbourne’s industrial history and its re-birth as a destination for waterside living became the key driving factors behind the design of Armada. The design language of the building has been broken into two elements. The lower level references modern day naval architecture as well as the machinery used in a working port environment. The upper levels are an abstraction of a group of sails – the genesis behind the name of the building. However, the overall design intent was not to solely reference its maritime locale, but rather produce a sophisticated design aesthetic that both pays homage to its surroundings and intrigues the viewer. Save this picture!© Dianna SnapeArmada apartments have been configured to provide generous living spaces and maximise the amount of natural daylight. Lighting has been carefully considered as an integral element of the overall design aesthetic and generous terrace areas add to the richness of the living experience.Unlike some apartment developments that have a plethora of communal facilities, such as a swimming pool and gymnasium, Armada was designed for the owner-occupier market, with the size of each apartment being slightly more generous (50 square metres for a one-bedroom and 90 square metres for two). So, while there are two levels of basement car parking, complete with steel cages for residents’ excess, the ”extras” can be found in each apartment. The 90-square-metre apartments, for example, feature a well-defined entrance with large concealed laundry and separate powder room. This delineation also ensures that 180-degree views of the city skyline are not immediately revealed as soon as the front door to the apartment is opened.Save this picture!© Dianna SnapeWhile the timber and steel facade of Armada is animated, with cut-out steel terraces, it’s the foyer that draws you into the building. A curvaceous cedar wall, which wraps around to form a ceiling, delivers residents to the lifts as well as to a pocket-size Japanese style garden.Save this picture!Floor PlanProject gallerySee allShow lessMuseu Brasileiro de Escultura (MuBE) / Paulo Mendes da RochaArticlesNew Tel Aviv High-Rise By Richard Meier Nears CompletionArchitecture NewsProject locationAddress:Nott Street, Port Melbourne VIC 3207, AustraliaLocation to be used only as a reference. The victim (a known local gang member) was shot at by suspects who were in a Silver Toyota Corolla. The suspects fled the location and the intended victim was not struck by gunfire. Two days later, on October 19, at about 6:59 p.m., Pasadena Police Officers responded to a call of shots fired in the 100 block of Grandview Street in Pasadena. Officers obtained a description of the suspects, to include their vehicle a silver Toyota Corolla. There was also information provided to police that the intended victims of this shooting returned gun fire. Based on the information it was apparent to police Detectives that the suspects in the silver Toyota Corolla were possibly the same who were involved in Villa Parke shooting two days earlier.Since the shootings, Pasadena Police Detectives relentlessly worked on leads and found the suspect vehicle used in both shootings. This in turn also led to the service of several search warrants and ultimately the identity and arrests of the suspects. The Pasadena Police have arrested; Joseph Vargas, 18 years old, Edward Vargas, 19 years old, and two juveniles both ages 15 for the shooting at Villa Parke on October 17th and also for the shooting on Grandview Street on October 19th.Additionally, this investigation also led to the arrest of two additional male juveniles both ages 17 also for the shooting on Grandview Street on October 19th.Based on the information this case was gang related and the suspects have been booked for assault with a deadly weapon, shooting from a vehicle, and one suspect was also booked for possession of a firearm. The case is being presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office for consideration of filing.“Like many shootings involving gang members, this case was very complex. However, because of the commitment of the involved investigators they were quickly able to identify the suspects responsible for the shootings. This investigation underscores the police department’s commitment to public safety and our relentless pursuit of predators in our community” said Police Chief Phillip Sanchez.
