A switch is an assistive technology device that replaces the need to use a computer keyboard or mouse. It is an alternative for computer access and  allows for people with mobility impairments to continue to use computers.One type of switch that’s available for people with disabilities is the TableTapper Switch has two modes of control (latch and timing) and a variable sensitivity ranging from a light tap to a hard pound. Place the TableTapper Switch on a hard surface such as a tabletop or counter, and activate communication aids or battery operated devices by tapping on the table or counter surface. It has variable sensitivity ranging from a light tap to a hard pound. The TableTapper has a standard 1/8-inch plug. The device comes with a 9-volt battery. It is 2.5″ x 2.5″ x 1″ and weighs about 6 oz.
