Hantong to Build World’s First CNG Carrier

first_imgzoom Jiangsu Hantong Ship Heavy Industry signed a shipbuilding contract with CIMC ENRIC SJZ GAS on 26th October, 2014, for construction of the world’s first CNG carrier.The carrier, to be used for natural gas transportation between the islands of Indonesia and will be operated by Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PT PLN), Indonesian National Electric Company, according to Hantong.The vessel is designed by CIMC ORIC, using natural gas as power, driven by dual fuel main engine, with 110-meter length over all and 14-knots design speed.It will be designed and constructed under the classification society American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) and PT. Biro Klasifikasi Indonesia (Persero)(BKI).The delivery is expected to take place in May 2016.  The carrier’s price tag stands at approximately USD 200 million.“Along with the increasing demand for clean energy in shipping industry and related technology keeping improving, the successful signing of CNG project signifies our another breakthrough in building gas carriers after successfully developing the market of stainless steel chemical tanker,” Hantong said in a release.Press Releaselast_img read more

Kabyle Leaders Hails Moroccos Plea for Kabylie

Paris – A Kabyle leader hailed Morocco’s plea in favor of the self-determination of the Kabylie region in Algeria, during the commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the UN creation in New York.“I am glad to hear this plea since the main goal of the Kabylie’s provisional government (GPK) is to put the issue of Kabylie’s sovereignty on the UN’s table,” said GPK’s second in command Lyazid Abid in a response on Tuesday on Website “tamurt.info“.Abid noted that the cause of Kabylie is very legitimate and the recognition of the GPK is logical.Either the right of self-determination is available for all peoples, or no one gets it, he added.
